Pro bono brainstorm: how to create a bottom-up change in Slovak education system?

By Pontis Foundation

The Pontis Foundation has been bridging the NGO, business and state sectors in Slovakia for more than 20 years. Last year we decided to combine all the different support mechanisms and focus them on a complex program called the Generation 3.0, which aims to bring about bottom-up change of the education system in Slovakia. Apart from the financial, networking, lobbying and impact measurement service, which we provide for the most innovative education approaches, we also organise a 3 month pro bono acceleration program called the MentorExpres. It includes various pro bono formats for the finalists of the Generation 3.0 program.

On the 19th of October we have a meeting of all the pro bono mentors who assist individual NGOs on a weekly to biweekly basis. There are two purposes of the meeting – firstly, to exchange experiences and know-how of their cooperation so far. Secondly, the Pontis Foundation plays a crucial role in scaling the approaches to the rest of Slovakia and the meeting serves as a pro bono brainstorming session, the goal of which is to identify a strategy through which we can spread the approaches to at least 15 000 teachers by the end of 2020.
